The Maharashtra education department issued a clarification on Tuesday about its recent circular requiring all schools to operate full days till April 30 to compensate for time lost due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

It stated that schools that have completed the year's syllabus are not required to remain open till April 30. Summer holidays have not been cancelled, according to a top official from the education department.
