The Uttar Pradesh Board, UPMSP, has cancelled the class 12 intermediate English paper exam, which was set to take place on March 30. Due to an alleged paper leak event in Ballia district, the 12th English paper was cancelled in 24 districts across the state. According to reports, a class 12 English paper was being offered for Rs 500 in the market.
The UP Board decided to cancel the intermediate, 12th English paper series 316 ED and 316 EI after knowing of the paper leak. According to official sources, the Uttar Pradesh Police Special Task Force has been asked to investigate the matter. Gulab Devi, the Uttar Pradesh minister in charge of secondary education, said, "The English question paper for class 12 appears to have been leaked in Ballia. The incident is being investigated, and those who are found guilty will face severe consequences."
Ballia, Etah, Baghpat, Badaun, Sitapur, Kanpur Dehat, Lalitpur, Chitrakot, Pratapgarh, Gonda, Azamgarh, Agra, Varanasi, Mainpuri, Mathura, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Shamli, Shahjahanpur, Unnao, Jalaun, Mahoba, Ambedkar Nagar, and Gorakhpur have all had their intermediate exams When asked why the exam was cancelled in only 24 districts, Gulab Devi stated that the leaked question paper was only distributed in the 24 districts where the exam was cancelled. "The English exam is currently underway in the remaining 51 districts."
"A new date for the intermediate English exam to be held in these 24 districts will be announced soon," according to a UPMSP release. This year, a total of 27,81,654 students have registered for the Class 10 exam, while 24,11,035 students have registered for the Class 12 exam. Exams for classes 10 and 12 will be held from March 24 to April 12.
