The initiative was established with the goal of stepping up water conservation efforts in all of Manipur's recognised water-stressed districts and blocks.

This campaign's Nodal Department

The State Water Resources Department is the campaign's Nodal Department. They would be in charge of carrying out this campaign.

What will be accomplished as a result of this campaign?

Several Jal Shakti Kendras would be established around the state as part of this initiative. These kendras would also serve as knowledge centres, raising awareness about water saving measures. During the programme, a special emphasis will be placed on the mapping of spring sheds and springs. The mapped springs and spring sheds will be revitalised and managed correctly. This campaign will run till November 30th, 2022. Rainwater harvesting technologies will also be installed in all of the state's schools, government offices, and colleges so that rainwater may be captured, stored, and processed for various applications. The campaign theme "Catch the Rain, Where it falls, when it falls" was chosen for this campaign. Water conservation is critical for the state, especially in light of the state government's Green Manipur Mission.
