Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal Chief Minister, spoke on Tuesday on the state's ongoing success while on a five-day tour to north Bengal. She made it obvious where she stood on students and the resources available to them under her guidance.
"We have offered credit cards to over 20,000 students in West Bengal for educational expenses up to Rs 10 lakh, and we are steadily adding more students to the list," stated the West Bengal Chief Minister.
She stated that the daily earnings of tea labourers in Darjeeling had been increased "In the state, the 'Chaa Sundari Scheme' has been started, which would provide dwellings to 3,80,000 families. Before the TMC came to power, tea workers were paid Rs 67 per day; now they are paid Rs 202 per day ".
