This event was held at the ASITA East River Front, ITO Bridge in New Delhi. This ceremony was arranged to commemorate the splendour of the River Yamuna, and a vow to keep it clean was made. At this event, people were encouraged to work together to clean the River Yamuna, which is the Ganga's most significant and largest tributary. The Namami Gange Programme, which focuses on the main stem of the Ganga Basin, is producing significant effects.
The Yamuna River is being cleaned
The current goal is to clean up the Yamuna River and complete the three large sewage treatment facilities (STP) that are being built by December 2022. This will keep all unclean water from the sewers from entering the Yamuna.
Construction of sewage infrastructure is being funded
The NMCG is supporting the building of sewage infrastructure for the River Yamuna in the sum of Rs. 2300 crore.
Yamunotsav's Happenings
Street dramas live paintings, spiritual and classical performances, dance, music, and other events were organised at Yamunotsav. Kullads (earthen glasses) were stored at the water stations for drinking water, and the message of 'no-plastic' was conveyed.
