Highlights
As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Governor of Andhra Pradesh Shri Biswabhusan Harichandan launched the Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2022 in Arts College Ground, Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh, in the presence of Union Minister for Culture, Tourism, and DoNER G. K Reddy. The two-day Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav will be held on the premises of the Government Art College in Rajahmundry on March 26th and 27th, 2022. The inaugural Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav took place in 2015, and it was well welcomed by the media and the general public, spurring the organising of a series of festivals. With over 1000 performers performing, the Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav provides an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see all of India's folk, traditional, tribal, classical, and popular art forms under one roof.
Aangans are erected to symbolise regional cultures and to promote traditional Arts & Crafts, with artists setting up booths to sell their wares and demonstrate their exceptional talents.
Important Points
Each year, the Mahotsav has included notable Padma and Sangeet Natak Akademi-awarded classical performers from a variety of genres. The Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav makes a concerted effort to choose musicians who represent the regional character of the state in which it is hosted. The Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav will be conducted in Hyderabad for three days from April 1st to April 3rd, 2022.
