Description
Overview
Telangana is the best-performing state in this initiative, with 13,960 ODF Plus villages. Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh come next. The Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Phase-II was initiated in 2020 with the goal of ensuring that all villages throughout the nation have ODF Plus by the end of 2024. Several parts of attaining the ODF Plus aim, according to the Jal Shakti ministry, include the GOBARdhan Scheme, biodegradable waste management, plastic waste management, grey water management, and faecal sludge management. The ODF Plus communities have been classified into three groups. The categories are Rising, Aspiring, and Model, and they display their development in each. The ODF Plus village’s initiative has resulted in a competitive and healthy attitude among the people, resulting in their participation in the faster implementation of "sampoorn swachhata." Over one crore individuals from over 22,000 gramme panchayats engaged in various cleanliness initiatives as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
