Concerning the President's Color Award
It is the highest accolade or honour that any of India's military formations may get. This honour is also known as ?Nishaan? since it is a symbol that will be worn by the officers of the given units on their left-hand sleeve of their uniform. This award ceremony serves to recognise the receiving unit's distinguished service. Although carrying the President's Colour Award into combat is no longer performed, the habit of receiving, holding, and parading it is still maintained in the Armed Forces. This honour can be conferred on a military unit in honour of exemplary service to the country during both war and peace.
