According to the Economic Survey 2021-22, the Delhi government, which has the biggest financial allocation for education among states and union territories, has implemented several initiatives such as the Deshbhakti Curriculum and the establishment of the Delhi Board of School Education.
The government's annual expenditure per student fell to Rs 63,556 in 2020-21 from Rs 66,593, according to the report. According to the economic survey, there are 1,231 government and government-aided schools in the city, accounting for 21.73 percent of all schools.
In 2020-21, government and government-aided school enrollment accounts for 39.36% of all admissions in Delhi. According to the poll, the percentage of students enrolled in private elementary and secondary schools climbed dramatically from 31.07 percent in 2014-15 to 46.72 percent in 2019-20.
The Government of Delhi had the largest budgetary allocation of 22.8 percent in the education sector among all states in 2021-22, according to the RBI's State Budget Analysis Report.
From Rs 6,555 crore in 2014-15 to Rs 15,707 crore in 2020-21, total education spending has grown. According to the study, the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) was established in March 2021 and has partnered with the International Baccalaureate (IB) to "inculcate cutting-edge teaching and evaluations in Delhi's schools."
