Ashleigh Barty, a 25-year-old Australian female tennis player, has announced her retirement from the sport.

She became the first woman to win three Grand Slam singles championships when she won the French Open in 2019, Wimbledon in 2021, and the Australian Open in 2022. During her tennis break from 2014 to 2016, she also played semi-professional cricket. Barty announced his retirement after winning three key singles championships on three distinct surfaces: the 2019 French Open, the 2021 Wimbledon, and the Australian Open in January.
