Description

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) or Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) is a computerised entrance test used to gain admission to 45 central institutions across the country. A candidate's Class 12 grades will not be considered in this test. The Class 12 marks can only be considered as a factor for eligibility by institutionsThe National Testing Agency(NTA) will administer this exam during the first week of July . The application window for this exam will open in the first week of April. The NTA will compile a merit list from which admissions will be made. There will be no group therapy sessions.

Cut-off points are very high

Recently, a tendency of high cut-off scores in central institutions, such as the Delhi University's 100% cut-offs, has been discontinued, since Class 12 results will no longer be considered when applying for admission to central universities. The high cut-offs were in vogue because CISCE, CBSE, and several state boards have diverse methods of evaluating patterns, which makes it unfair for students applying to central institutions, where there is a variation in assessment patterns.

This exam's paper pattern

This exam will be a computer-based MCQ examination (CBT). The NCERT textbooks will serve as the foundation for the question standards. For wrong replies, negative marks will be applied.

This exam's sections

This examination will be broken into three parts:

Section A will be the language test, in which a student must choose one of the 13 languages. Section B will be a domain-specific test in which applicants must select six of the 27 domains. Section C is optional and consists of two sub-sections. Section 1 will be a broad aptitude exam, while Section 2 will be a test of 19 unusual languages that are not included in Section A.'
