On the occasion of Ram Manohar Lohia's birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the socialist legend, saying he is globally admired for his moral politics and intellectual brilliance. Lohia, who was born in 1910, was a liberation warrior and Gandhian before becoming a pioneer for the political empowerment of impoverished people and working to unify opposition parties against the Congress's control at the time. In the early 1960s, he is credited with initiating the development of anti-Congress elements. He passed away in 1967. Modi paid tribute to him on Twitter, writing, "Remembering Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary." He was at the centre of numerous historical events and was instrumental in our independence movement. He is well-known for his strong politics and intellectual brilliance."
The prime minister also shared some communication with Lohia, who is regarded as an intellectual powerhouse, on Twitter. "Some intriguing nuggets from historya letter from Dr. Lohia to Lord Linlithgow and communication between Dr. Lohia's father and him," he tweeted.
