History
World Meteorological Day is well-known for founding the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) on March 23, 1950. Today marks the organization's 72nd anniversary, and it has made enormous progress in making the world a significantly better place. The World Meteorological Organization is based in Geneva, Switzerland. The foundations of the organisation may be traced back to the International Meteorological Organization (IMO) and were examined by the Vienna International Meteorological Congress in 1873. WMO was ultimately put into action in 1950, when the WMO convention was sanctioned.
