On March 19, 2022, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) commemorated its 83rd Raising Day with passion and ceremonial fervour. The 83rd Raising Day procession was held in Jammu's Maulana Azad Stadium. The CRPF observed Raising Day outside of the capital for the first time. Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave the salute during the parade and also distributed gallantry awards and trophies to CRPF troops for remarkable performance in a variety of categories. The Crown Representative's Police Force (CRPF) was founded on July 27, 1939. Following the passage of the CRPF Act on December 28, 1949, it was called the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). On March 19, 1950, the then-Home Minister, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, awarded the CRPF the Presidential colours in recognition of its outstanding service. The CRPF began commemorating the Day as Raising Day.
