In the previous year, the highest JEE Main rank at which a National Institute of Technology (NIT) closed admission to open category seats for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering was 714 at NIT Tiruchirappalli. The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) admit students based on the results of the National Testing Agency's Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main (NTA). The undergraduate engineering admission exam will be held in two sessions this year. The application procedure for JEE Main 2022 Session 1 is now ongoing.

BTech in Computer Science is one of the most sought-after engineering programmes. Candidates who want to take admission to BTech in Computer Science must participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority's counselling process (JoSAA). The registration for JoSAA counselling commences after the JEE Advanced test, which is held for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). JoSAA provided guidance to NITs, Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs).
