Overview
Infantry Platoon strength from the Indian Army and the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF), as well as Company Headquarters, will participate in this exercise. The exercise's purpose is to exchange experiences obtained through various operations against hostile forces in a semi-urban setting, as well as to improve the capability to execute joint operations. The Indian Army contingent is made up of personnel from the 2/3 GORKHA RIFLES group (PIRKANTHI Battalion).
The Importance of This Exercise
Seychelles has hosted Exercise LAMITIYE, a biannual training exercise, since 2001. The exercise LAMITIYE with Seychelles is critical and vital in terms of the security problems that both nations confront in the light of the present global situation and developing security concerns in the Indian Ocean Region.
The goal of the workout
The 10-day joint exercise will include combat debates, outdoor training exercises, demonstrations, lectures, and a two-day validation exercise. The goal of the joint training exercise is to build and improve bilateral military ties, as well as to exchange skills, experiences, and best practises between the two forces.
What kinds of drills will be carried out as part of this exercise?
Both sides will prepare, train, and execute a series of well-developed tactical simulations for eliminating potential threats in a Semi-Urban context, while also displaying and employing new generation equipment and technology for joint operations. It will be stressed to improve tactical abilities in defeating enemy soldiers in a semi-urban setting, as well as to develop interoperability between forces.
