In an official declaration read aloud in the Rajya Sabha on March 9, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasised that the "missile system is highly dependable and safe." The Minister noted that the issue has been taken seriously by the government, and a formal high-level probe has been requested. The Minister went on to say that the investigation will identify the actual reason of the catastrophe. He also stated that the Standard Operating Procedures for operations, maintenance, and inspections are being reviewed. Rajnath Singh went on to say that India places the highest premium on the safety and security of its military systems, and that any flaws will be addressed swiftly. He went on to remark that India's safety processes and standards are among the best in the world.
Rajnath Singh's complete remarks on the inadvertent missile launch:
"I would like to notify the House that the administration has taken serious notice of the situation," the Defence Minister stated in Parliament.
He stated that a formal high-level investigation has been ordered to ascertain the actual reason of the aforementioned disaster. The Standard Operating Procedures for operations, maintenance, and inspections are also being reviewed. He promised that the missile system is extremely dependable and secure. He went on to emphasise that our Armed Forces are well-trained, disciplined, and experienced in dealing with such systems. He stated that the administration has taken the situation seriously and that the precise reason of the occurrence would be determined following an inquiry.
What precisely occurred?
On March 9, an Indian missile penetrated Pakistani airspace and landed 124 kilometres deep into Pakistani territory near a town named Mian Channu, according to the Pakistan Army. The rocket wreaked havoc on the nearby areas. Last Monday, India admitted that a "technical glitch had resulted in the inadvertent launching of a missile."
