Concerning NHEV
NHEV by 2020 is the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's first intercity e-mobility prototype initiative to enable Ease of Doing Business through Single Window Clearance. It is based on Ministry of Power reforms to establish Charging Stations on National Highways with low capital and operating expense in a sustainable manner. NHEV is advocating for public charging stations throughout India.
Recently launched Initiatives
Along the Jaipur-Delhi-Agra E-highway, NHEV is building a green charging station. It will offer numerous amenities for clients to utilise while charging their automobiles, such as a restaurant, a coffee bar, a bank, an ATM, a showroom, and so on.
In Gurugram, NHEV launched India's largest EV charging station. It includes 121 EV chargers and can charge up to 1000 automobiles per day. It was set up in less than a month, which is a record. With the addition of this new EV charging station, Gurugram has become the first city in India to have the top two charging stations. A working committee from NHEV has met with NITI Aayog to discuss the new battery swapping strategy on March 7, 2022.
These NHEV measures to encourage e-mobility will have various benefits, including a cleaner environment, reduced fuel imports, and the creation of new economic possibilities.
