Description

Solar Tree is a construction that includes solar energy technology on a single pillar, similar to the trunk of a tree. It might be a working power generator or a piece of solar art.

Solar Tree's Purpose

The goal of solar trees is to compliment the architecture and environment they supplement, generally in a public or commercial setting, and to raise awareness of solar technology. The installation of many solar trees aims to encourage understanding, awareness, and the use of renewable energy. They are rarely utilised as the major source of energy for a home because rooftop solar panels offer that energy. Solar trees supplement rooftop solar systems or other green building projects by signifying greater expenditures and the environmental advantages they provide. Solar trees may increase interest in and understanding of solar technology while also providing shade and gathering places.

The Importance of Solar Trees in India

PM Modi underlined the significance of renewable energy in India when speaking at a webinar on 'Energy for Sustainable Growth,' and asked the people of the country to create their own solar trees, which may help save up to 15% on powerIndia's energy consumption will grow in the near future, necessitating a conversion to renewable energy. As a result, every Indian family should plant solar trees, which may save up to 15% on power. Solar trees should be included in the plans and constructions of the nation's builders and architects.

India's Solar Tree

In 2016, the CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute in Durgapur designed a novel Solar Tree model for usage in communities, national roads, and power grid systems in order to alleviate the country's electricity problem by boosting the percentage of renewable energy. The suggested structure can generate electricity in the range of 3-7 Kwh with a low footprint of 22 sqft.
