Description
For the 2022-23 academic year, the Delhi Board of Secondary Education (DBSE) has begun the registration process for admission to Schools of Specialized Excellence (SoSE). Students can enrol online until February 28 at edudel.nic.in/sose.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Performing and Visual Arts, Humanities, High-end 21st Century Skills, and Armed Forces Preparatory Schools are the five domains of specialty in Delhi SoSEs.
While STEM and AFPS admissions are open for classes 9 and 11, admissions for other classes are open for Class 9.
An aptitude test will be used to determine admission.
Last year, a total of 26,687 students applied to SoSEs, with 2,794 students accepted from STEM, Humanities, and High-End 21st Century Skills schools.
The remaining students were from recognised private institutions, with over two-thirds coming from government and government-aided schools.
Students are required to audition for admission to Performing and Visual Arts institutions.
Last year, Dehi's own education board, DBSE, began with 30 schools, 20 of which are SoSEs.
In August of 2021, the National Capital administration struck a deal with the International Baccalaureate (IB) board. IB would be affiliated with DBSE, according to CM Arvind Kejriwal.
