South Africa's U19 cricketer Dewald Brevis, Bangladesh's Ebadot Hossain, and South African Keegan Petersen are among the male nominees for the ICC Player of the Month January 2022 award.

Nominees for ICC Men's Player of the Month in January 2022, Dewald Brevis, South Africa U19, Because of his outstanding all-around performance at the ICC U-19 World Cup 2022, the South African under 19 Player is one of the contenders for ICC Player of the Month in January 2022. Dewald Brevis, dubbed 'Baby AB,' ended the competition as the leading run-scorer with 506 runs, two centuries, and three fifties in six matches. He also took seven wickets, earning him the title of Player of the Tournament.
Ebadot Hossain, Bangladesh: In two tests against New Zealand in January, the Bangladeshi spinner picked up nine wickets. His stats included a 6/46 in the first test, which resulted to Bangladesh's historic victory over New Zealand. For his amazing effort, he was named player of the match.
Keegan Petersen, South Africa: The South African batsman made 244 runs in the home Test series against India, helping his country to a series victory. He was selected series player of the year.
Nominees for ICC Women's Player of the Month in January 2022
Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu: The Sri Lankan skipper has been nominated for player of the month for his remarkable all-round performance in the January Commonwealth Games Qualifiers. She finished the competition as the tournament's highest run-scorer with 221 runs and four wickets. She not only helped her team win the competition, but she also secured their participation as the eighth team in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham later this year, which will be the sport's first appearance at the event since 1998.
Deandra Dottin, West Indies: The West Indies batsman scored 187 runs in two one-day internationals against South Africa in January.
Heather Knight, England: The England captain scored 216 runs, including an undefeated 168 runs in the first innings of England's solitary test match against Australia in Canberra during the Women's Ashes. It was the second-highest score by a skipper in Women's Test history. Australia put up a valiant effort, but the game finished in a tie.
