Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) and the Indian Army inked a deal for the manufacturing and supply of Konkurs-M anti-tank guided missiles on February 3, 2022, valued Rs 3,131.82 crore.

BDL has an order book of Rs 11,400 crore, which includes the Konkurs-M contract.

Who makes Konkurs-M and where does it come from?

BDL manufactures the Konkurs-M anti-tank guided missiles under a licencing arrangement with Russian Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Missile has been indigenized to the fullest degree possible. BDL also has Konkurs-M missiles available for export to friendly foreign governments.

Concerning Konkurs-M

The Konkurs-M is a mechanised infantry anti-tank guided missile in its second version. It's designed to take down armoured vehicles that have explosive reactive armour. Missiles can be launched from a ground launcher or from a BMP-II tank. Its range is from 75 to 4000 metres. At ranges of 75 to 4,000 metres. 

The missile is designed to combat contemporary tanks equipped with light armoured vehicles, ERA, fortifications, and engineer constructions. It may be used in both daytime and dark environments. Combat assets, training aids, and maintenance facilities make up the ATGM system.

The Konkurs-M system may be placed on a variety of tracked and wheeled platforms due to its launcher architecture.
