William Henry Sleeman unearthed a Dinosaur fossil in this location in 1928. Lamheta has also been designated as a geo historic monument by UNESCO.

The Lameta Formation is a geological formation that can be found in the Madhya Pradesh.

Infratrappean Beds are another name for the Lameta Formation. Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat are home to this sedimentary geological formation.

It's connected to the Deccan Traps, it dates from the Maastrichtian period and is famous for its dinosaur fossils.

GSI was established in 1851, it is an Indian scientific agency that is part of the Ministry of Mines, it is one of the world's oldest organisations and India's second-oldest survey organisation, after Survey of India, in 1767, the Survey of India was established.
