The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the DNB (Post Diploma) counselling schedule. Counseling for the 2021 academic session will be conducted through a centralised online process. There will be three rounds of counselling, followed by a mop-up round. The additional mop-up round, however, will be determined by the number of vacant seats following the third round of counselling. The decision to hold any additional rounds is purely discretionary, and the NBEMS's decision in this regard will be final and binding, according to an NBE statement.
Registration and selection will have to be done through the official website, counseling.nbe.edu.in. Round 1 registration will begin on January 31, while round 2 and round 3 registration will begin on February 15 and March 1, respectively.
NBE has advised applicants to carefully fill out their preferences and seat selections and to Lock and Confirm them so that they are taken into account by the system.
“If there is INACTION i.e. the candidate does not Lock and Confirm the preferences/choices of seats, the System will not accept the choices of seats and the candidate will not be allotted any seat,” the NBE statement added.
Registered candidates who have been assigned a seat in the first round of counselling and have frozen it by paying the first-year course fee will not be permitted to participate in the subsequent round of counselling.
