More than 12 lakh military troops in India will receive new uniforms. The new outfit, unlike the old one, has a battle T-shirt beneath.
Concerning the new uniform
Since 2008, the previous uniform has been in use. The colour of the new uniform is the same as the old one. That is, earthy tones and an olive green colour scheme. It's a digital pattern. The new uniform is constructed of a fabric that is lighter, more durable, and more breathable. The fabric was chosen to reflect the many terrains that army troops must traverse and serve in. The fabric's cotton-to-polyester ratio is 70:30. In hot and humid weather, this makes it more comfortable to wear. The new uniform is 15 percent lighter and 23 percent stronger than the previous one.
Style's components
The army guys will not tuck their new uniforms in like they did their old ones. The jacket is a shirt that is worn over a T-shirt. The jacket includes angular pockets on the top. It also features bottom pockets that open vertically. Another pocket may be seen on the left sleeve. Knife pleats are seen in the back of the dress. The jacket also includes a pen pouch on the left forearm and higher-quality buttons. At the groyne, the uniform trousers are double layered. With buttons and suppleness, they may be adjusted at the waist. The caps' girth may be adjusted. In comparison to the previous uniform, the army logo printed on the hats is of higher quality.
Uniforms for women
There is no specific uniform for female police. The uniform, on the other hand, was created with the needs and comfort of female employees in mind. This is the first time that such factors have been taken into account while designing and constructing army uniforms.
Who came up with the idea?
It was created by a group of twelve National Institute of Fashion Technology designers. There have been seven professors, three students, and two alumni on the panel.
The 4Cs were used in the design.
The designers used a 4C strategy for creating and developing the uniform. Comfort, Climate, Camouflage, and Confidentiality are the four pillars of the strategy.
The uniform has a QR code on it.
The material used in the previous uniform was common and readily accessible on the market, which was a huge disadvantage. As a result, army personnel may simply purchase items from outside the market. This resulted in security flaws. Any average guy may simply create in the manner of an army soldier. A QR code and a barcode are printed on the new outfit. This preserves the uniform's individuality.
Not every uniform is replaced.
Other army clothes, such as ceremonial and peacekeeping outfits, will remain unchanged.
During Army Day, it was unveiled.
General F R Roy Bucher, the Chief of the Indian Army, introduced the new uniform. During the army day ceremonies, it was unveiled. Every year on January 15, the Indian Army Day is commemorated. General KM Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army on January 15, 1949. To commemorate this occasion, the country celebrates Army Day. It is also commemorated to honour the brave army personnel who serve the country, such as Cariappa.
Army Uniform's Importance
It's a distinguishing trait. It is fairly easy to tell them apart from civilians. It promotes teamwork, discipline, and compliance among employees.
