Kamal Khan, a senior NDTV journalist and laureate of the Ramnath Goenka Award, died of a heart attack on January 14, 2022, at the age of 61. Ruchi Khan, Kamal Khan's wife, and their son, Aman, survive him.

Several lawmakers and members of the media paid their respects to Kamal Khan. Supriya Shrinate, a Congress lawmaker and former journalist, expressed her condolences on Twitter and described Khan as a "rock-solid journalist." Rajdeep Sardesai, a journalist, paid respect to Kamal Khan. Khan, he remembered, was an excellent Lucknow-based correspondent for NDTV.

Mayawati, the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, described Kamal Khan's death as "a very sad and irreparable loss to the world of journalism." Kamal Khan had reported for NDTV India on the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh elections the day before he died.

Tributes have poured in for NDTV's Kamal Khan.

In a tweet, independent journalist Rana Ayyub stated that many people used to wait for Kamal Khan's reports and that in the world of TRPs, he brought rationality to TV journalism.

Kamal Khan of NDTV was an experienced and award-winning journalist noted for his in-depth knowledge of Uttar Pradesh politics. He died in his Lucknow residence. He was the executive editor of NDTV and a recipient of the President of India's Ramnath Goenka Award and the Ganesh Shanker Vidyarthi Award.

Kamal Khan was a great journalist who stood out for his perceptiveness and ethics during his more than three-decade tenure with NDTV.

Kamal Khan's ability as a news anchor was well-known, and his language was noted for its hallmark beauty. His most recent NDTV report focused on the forthcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh.
