On Saturday, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-Madras) will have its 58th convocation (November 20). PV Sindhu, an Olympic medalist and world champion in badminton, will be the keynote speaker at the virtual convocation ceremony, according to the institute announcement. Due to the Covid epidemic, almost 2,300 degrees were conferred last year, and the convocation was also held online. According to the press release, 191 patents were filed throughout the year, with 62 of them being worldwide, and the institute was granted 58 of them.
Meanwhile, for the third year in a row, IIT Madras has topped the National Institutional Rankings Framework (NIRF) Ranking 2021. In the rating, IIT Madras was ranked first in India in both the 'Overall' and 'Engineering' categories.
Two new diploma courses in programming and data science have just been added to the institute's offerings. Students, working professionals, and job seekers are all eligible for the diplomas. thus, to achieve a diploma in programming or data science, a student must finish eight courses and according to IIT Madras, a diploma can be completed in eight months. On December 12, the diploma entry qualification exam will be held.
