Gurjit Kaur won the FIH Women’s Hockey Player of the Year at the International Hockey Federation's (FIH) Hockey Stars Awards 2020-21. On October 6, 2021, the results of the FIH Hockey Stars Awards 2020-21 were announced. Five Indian hockey players and two head coaches from both the Indian men's and women's teams won hockey awards in various categories.

About Gurjit Kaur
Gurjit Kaur is an Indian female field Hockey player. Kaur is a defender and the designated drag-flicker of India's hockey team. Kaur represented India at the 2018 Hockey World Cup, where she was the top scorer of India and third highest goal scorer with 8 goals. As of July 2018, she had played 53 international matches.
Kaur is also known for her performance at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, where she finished fourth. She also scored the lone goal against Australia in the 2020 Summer Olympics, helping India reach the semi-finals in Olympic women’s hockey for the first time.
