The National Economics Olympiad (NEO) is a statewide school level economics olympiad for students in grades 11 and 12. Those interested should apply by October 15th. NEO will be held in two rounds, the first on October 17 and the second on October 24, both of which will be held online. Candidates must pay a registration fee of Rs 200; however, in order to promote greater participation, an early-bird deal will be available in which students can register for the olympiad for only Rs 189. This offer is good till September 25th.
The preliminary round will be divided into four categories, each with ten questions from Economic principles, Logical reasoning, Case studies, and Data interpretation. There will be no negative grading in this round, and each question will be worth one mark. The last round will be a surprise, with specifics revealed only at the time of the test.
SRCC is offering a 100% financial aid mechanism to attract students from poor backgrounds to "provide greater possibilities for students, irrespective of their limits." Students will be able to put their knowledge to the test and broaden their grasp of economics in terms of its applicability in the real world, according to SRCC. SRCC attracted approximately 6000+ participants from 1200 schools and 400 towns in ten countries for the Olympiad held last year.
