In Hungary, on September 16, 2021, a statue of the founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, was unveiled. The statue was created by crypto enthusiasts – Reka Gergely and Tamas Gilly. They portray a human form and remain true to the anonymity of Nakamoto, a person no one knows what they look like.
An impressive bronze statue was unveiled in the Hungarian capital, Budapest. This is the first such statue in the world to pay tribute to the creator of the digital currency Bitcoin. It was built in a business park on the banks of the Danube in Budapest. The bust sits on a stone plinth and is also engraved with the name of Satoshi Nakamoto, the alias of a mysterious bitcoin developer whose true identity is still unknown.
Features of the statue
The statue is a faceless bust face wrapped in a bronze hoodie with the Bitcoin logo. The statue has been carefully polished to make it reflective like a mirror. Viewers can see themselves in the statue.
About bitcoins
Bitcoin was created in the year 2008 amid the global financial crisis. Its goal was to bypass traditional financial institutions by developing secure technology for peer-to-peer online transactions. It does not involve intermediaries such as banks. The foundational whitepaper, published in 2008, was authored by Nakamoto.
