Description
On September 17, 2021, NITI Aayog partnered with BYJU's to provide free education to students in 112 Aspirational Districts across India. Byju's will provide free access to its high-quality, technology-driven learning programs to students as part of this partnership, ensuring access to quality education.
This project envisions the formation of a dedicated working group, which will aid in the development of knowledge, innovation, and strategy support system. In addition, the team will actively monitor and evaluate program implementation to ensure efficacy and a broader scope of delivery.
Main components of the collaboration
The collaboration will consist of two major components: Byju's Career-Plus program (under Aakash+Byju's) which will identify and provide high-quality test prep coaching to 3000 meritorious students in classes 11 and 12 who wish to take the NEET and JEE examinations. In addition, as part of its social impact initiative, Education for All, a voluntary program will be held for children of school-going age (classes 6-12) who can opt-in to receive scholastic content from Byju's Learning App for three years.
Byju's founder and CEO Byju Raveendran, in a statement, said – “Through our Education for All program, we have been empowering and impacting millions of children across the country, and by partnering with NITI Aayog, our efforts are being strengthened further.”
Students for the Career-Plus program will be chosen through a pre-designed test and will be provided with teaching and content material, as well as mentoring support and guidance. According to the statement, this initiative will combine classroom and online learning, resulting in a hybrid model of education. Aside from dedicated support centers, students will have access to digital infrastructure in the form of devices (tablets/smartphones).
