Description

M. Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India, and Shri Harivansh, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, recently attended a presentation by AICTE officials on a unique tool that translates English language content into 11 different Indian languages.

About The AICTE Translation Tool

This artificial intelligence tool translates English language online courses into eleven different languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Assamese, Punjabi, and Odia. The tool can translate English books, complex formulae, research journals, government documents, and English videos to the specified languages.

About AICTE

The AICTE was founded in November in the year 1945 as an advisory body. By an act of Parliament, it was elevated to the status of statutory body. It is a national technical education council. It is managed by the Department of Higher Education. It is in charge of the proper planning and coordinated development of India's technical education and management education systems.

AICTE is supported by ten Statutory Boards of Studies, which include UG Studies in Engineering and Technology, Management Studies, PG and Research Studies in Engineering and Technology, Vocational Education, Technical Education, Pharmaceutical Education,  Architecture, Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Information Technology, and Town & Country Planning.

The AICTE is headquartered in Delhi, where the chairman, vice-chairman, and member secretary have offices. Regional offices have been established in Mumbai, Kanpur, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Vadodara, Kolkata, Bangalore, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Thiruvananthapuram, among others. It is the statutory authority in charge of planning, developing, and enforcing norms and standards, as well as ensuring quality through school accreditation and funding in priority areas.
