Description

The Jharkhand government has decided to reopen schools in the state from August 3. Students should note that schools are only open to Class IX to XII. They will be required to comply with all applicable COVID-19 safety regulations. This was stated by the Minister of Education of the state of Jagarnath Mahto. The opening of schools was given under the pretext that now it is necessary to launch autonomous classrooms in order to provide better education. In addition, students will be required to provide their parent's consent to attend classes offline.

School Opening Guidelines issued by the Jharkhand government.

According to the guidelines, Classroom seating has also been changed to allow for social distancing between students. All students and staff will be required to wear masks at all times while on school property. Classes will be held until 12:00 noon. It is also allowed to operate buses for students.

Pupils are called to such schools only with parental consent. Along with this, all schools will have to continue their online lessons as before, as attendance has not yet become compulsory. Schools must make every effort to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols to ensure everyone's well-being. Moreover, getting vaccinated is highly recommended as it will provide more safety for everyone.

Opening of other institutions in Jharkhand

Coaching centers can reopen if parents agree. Students will be admitted to coaching centers only after vaccination. Postgraduate examinations are allowed. Thermal checks will also be carried out at the school gates. Students must obtain parental consent before attending offline classes.

Schools in Jharkhand are reopening almost 1.5 years later, as they were closed in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schools were reopened briefly but closed again due to the second wave of the pandemic. In many places, the decision is seen as a necessary part of the unlocking phase, while in some places a decision has yet to be made to reopen schools and colleges.
