Description
India has always been known as the “land of spices.” And now it's getting spicier in the city of London as it receives its consignment of Raja Mircha of Nagaland for the first time. It is considered the hottest chili in the world and was first exported to London by air. In 2008, Raja Mircha received Geographical Indication certification.
Raja Mircha is one of the five hottest chilies in the world, according to the Scoville Heat Units. It has a distinctive taste and aroma. Nagaland State Agricultural Marketing Board and Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) have collaborated to coordinate exports from the Peren Nagaland region. It is considered to be a major boost to exports of Geographical Indications (GI) products from the north-eastern region.

About Scoville Heat Units
The Scoville Heat Units is a measure created to measure the spiciness of peppers or hot sauces. This is usually done by checking how often capsaicin needs to be dissolved in sweetened water. The number of Scoville heat units (SHU) in pepper or hot sauce indicates the amount of capsaicin present in the pepper or hot sauce. The higher the rating, the hotter the pepper.
