Description

The Punjab government has authorized the reopening of schools for the 10th, 11th and 12th grades from July 26, 2021. The decision was made after the situation with COVID-19 improves in the state. During the COVID review meeting, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said schools will be allowed to open from 10th to 12th grades, but only teachers and staff will be allowed to physically attend, who are fully vaccinated.

The presence of students in schools will be exclusively with the consent of the parents. Also, virtual classes will continue along with physical ones. A commitment in this regard should be presented to the appropriate Deputy Commissioner.

The rest of the classes can be allowed in the Punjab from 2 August

The Chief Minister announced that if the situation remains under control, the rest of the classrooms will also be allowed to reopen from 2 August 2021, noting that the University of Cambridge is forecasting further declines in cases in the coming weeks.

The easing came days after the chief minister ordered the opening of bars, cinemas, restaurants, spas, swimming pools, coaching centers, sports complexes, gyms, shopping malls, museums, zoos, etc. 50% compliant with vaccination requirements ... In terms of public events, the Chief Minister said that artists and musicians will be admitted to such events or celebrations in all areas, subject to proper COVID-19 protocols.
