Description

The State government has decided to open schools for students in Classes X & XII from July 26. According to the secretary of the School and Mass Education Department Satyabrat Sahu, the decision to reopen schools and resume physical education for students in Classes X & XII was made taking into account the problems that students face in online learning due to poor connection to the mobile network. (To the Internet). ... However, attending physical education classes is at the discretion of the students. schools will continue online learning for the rest, including Classes X & XII. The state government will soon issue an SOP.

School hours are from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM. However, schools will continue online learning for all grades, including Classes X & XII. The Ministry of Education also added that if the COVID-19 situation improves, Class IX students will also be called for physical education. Class IX schools will reopen from August 16, 2021. It was also added that preparations have already begun for the resumption of classes in grade 11 from September 15, 2021.

With regard to Class XI students in Odisha, it was said that schools will only reopen to them after admission to the Plus II courses has been completed. Education Minister Satyabrata Sahu also assured that no student will be forced to attend physical education lessons. In addition, the district collector of a particular district will have the right to vote on the reopening of schools in Odisha Classes X & XII in the respective district.

He also mentioned that schools that hold matriculation exams will only open after graduation. Prior to reopening, all school teachers will be vaccinated on a priority basis, and District Education Officers (DEOs) have been instructed to ensure strict adherence to all Covid-19 protocols.

COVID-19 quarantine

Schools and colleges in Odisha have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, after examining the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, the state decided to partially extend isolation until August 1 in some areas. In areas where the situation is better, the government allowed some relaxation of restrictions, such as opening certain retail outlets, opening shops.

Several states ended up reopening schools after improving the COVID-19 scenario. Schools reopen with strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines. Schools have reopened in several rural areas of Maharashtra. States such as Chandigarh and Haryana have also decided to reopen physical education schools.
