Description

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced the reopening of educational institutions in the state in accordance with published COVID-19 guidelines and protocols. The chief minister said in an announcement that given the declining number of COVID-19 cases in the state, a plan should be drawn up to reopen schools as soon as possible. School colleges and universities in Haryana are currently closed amid the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, and as the state's COVID-19 curve has leveled off, educational institutions in the state should reopen as soon as possible after all protocols are met. The Chief Minister also mentioned that the state is already leading the way towards the successful implementation of the National Education Policy by 2025.

Introduction of NEP in Haryana

The Chief Minister stated that after the announcement of the National Education Policy by the State and the central government, there has been a concerted effort to disseminate information widely among teachers, stakeholders, etc. However, raising awareness among students is an urgent task. In a meeting with senior officials from the Division for Women's and Children's Development, Schooling, Higher Education and Technical Education, the Chief Minister was grateful to the officials for the plan to implement the NEP by 2025, as announced at the 2021 budget session.

The Chief Minister also praised the NEP recommendations that were already being implemented in Haryana, and the recommendations made by Haryana were also included in the NEP.

The possibilities of opening one school in each district offering foreign languages ??should also be explored, and the number of these schools should also be increased in line with demand. The CM further stated that these schools should be open with living quarters and a cluster plan should be drawn up for these schools of the 4,000 announced smart schools, 1,000 are ready to start operating as soon as schools reopen in the state.
