Description

A  Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed with the Karnataka High Court to revoke the Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certification (SSLC) 2021 exam. PIL disputes a notice issued by the state government stating that the 2021 SSLC exam will be held. It even requires all SSLC students to pass, no matter what.

PIL Filed for cancellation of SSLC Exam in Karnataka State 2021

The petition was filed by S.V. Singre Gouda. It says kids are struggling to learn online and it is very impossible to understand the subject in online classes. In addition, only a few of the educational institutions were able to conduct online classes, and in and around Karnataka, especially in rural areas, there are no such opportunities, and in some areas there was not even a single class. Consequently, the conduct of exams for SSLC in these circumstances is poor and respondents need to be given the necessary guidance to stop exams immediately.

The petition even points to the emotional and psychological suffering children and parents experienced during COVID-19. It even states that PUC exams have been canceled in the state. Citing examples of other advice, the petition provides reasons why the Karnataka SSLC 2021 exam should be canceled. The statement also suggested a method for evaluating SSLC students, similar to that used for 2nd PUC students who will be promoted based on their past performance.

SSLC Exam Karnataka 2021

The Karnataka State High School Certificate (SSLC) exam will be held on July 19th and 22nd. The exam will ask objective multiple choice questions. The authorities have published the pass cards on the official website. Chief Minister Yediurapa tweeted last month:

"The Minister of Education, Suresh Kumar, after preliminary discussions with me, decided to set a deadline for the SSLC exams. This decision was made in the interests of the students after careful discussion, and it is not a unilateral decision. There is no need to create confusion in this regard."
