As per the latest news, the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore has released a new and updated admission notification. According to the revised notice, the institute will now follow a 25% horizontal compartmentalized reservation for the students of Karnataka state by introducing the “Karnataka Students” category. NLSIU Bangalore like other NLU’s has also joined the list of NLUs who are offering domicile/state reservation for admission to law programmes from this year 2021. The new reservation policy will be applicable from CLAT 2021 admission process.
All the students who wish to avail of the benefit must update their online CLAT application form 2021 by selecting the ‘Karnataka Students’ option against NLSIU Bangalore in the Reservations tab. The students must keep their study certificate during the counselling.
According to the new reservation policy for Karnataka students in NLSIU, now the institute will offer 120 seats in the integrated BA LLB programme. From now onwards in which 30 seats will now be available for the candidates belonging to the “Karnataka Students” category. In the LLM programme, the university offers that offers 50 seats will now have 10 seats reserved for the students of Karnataka state. The new reservation policy has changed the seat admission seat per cent for both the students from Karnataka and from other states also. There has been no change in the total seat intake for NLSIU Bangalore. NLSIU Bangalore will still admit a total of 120 candidates in the BA LLB (Hons) course and 50 candidates in the LLM course. As per the updates, almost all the remaining NLUs are offering seats under the state quota/domicile category except for Jodhpur and National Law University Delhi and National Law University.
It is a national-level law entrance exam that is held across the country. This year the entrance exam will be held on July 23, 2021, in pen and paper mode. The NLUs offer a total intake of around 2,622 seats in 5-year integrated law programmes and more than 750 seats in LLM programmes. This exam is conducted for students to take admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes which are being offered by the 22 national law universities (NLUs) and many also by the other CLAT affiliated law colleges and universities across the country.
