Prime Minister Narendra Modi communicated with Toycathon 2021 participants via video conferencing. Trade Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Sanjay Dhotre also attended the conference. During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi stressed the importance of the toy and games industry to the Indian economy. The industry of toys and games was called "toy economy" by him. According to Prime Minister Modi, the global toy market is around $ 100 billion, of which India contributes only $ 1.5 billion. India imports 80% of its toys from overseas. Thus, the Prime Minister stressed the ability of this sector to bring progress and growth to the neediest sectors of society.

PM Modi also asked to explore the possibilities of virtual, digital, and online gaming in India, because cheap data and the growth of the Internet have led to connectivity in rural areas. He asked for new models of innovation and funding to make Indian toys globally competitive.

The 75th Anniversary of India's Independence will provide tremendous opportunities for innovators and creators of the toy industry. Many incidents, stories of our freedom fighters and their leaders can be used in game concepts. Innovators can play a big role in connecting "The people with the future." PM Modi emphasized the need to create interesting and interactive games that can "Engage, Entertain and Educate."
