As per the reports, the Government of Madhya Pradesh is planning to reopen colleges and other higher education institutions in the month of August. Reports also say that that post reopening of colleges, the strength of students physically present would be kept limited and only students who are vaccinated against COVID-19 will be allowed to attend the classes in regular mode. The government has taken this step by looking at the number of active cases in the state. But the School Education Department has been still not spoken anything about reopening of schools for regular classes as of now.

As per the tentative plan, it is being considered that a limited number of students will be allowed to enter along with teachers, faculty members, and other staff as per safety measures. In the initial phase of the reopening, only those students and staff members, who have at least got one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, will be allowed to enter the college campus. To monitor and review the COVID-19 situation a high-level committee will be appointed by the state government and to discuss the matter of college reopening. But the final decision regarding this will be taken by MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister had hinted that colleges and other higher education institutions can be reopened in August 2021 if the vaccination process goes well and COVID-19 Pandemic is under control. According to the reports presented by the state government, over 77 lakh people in the age group of 18 to 44 have been vaccinated with the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. After this only, Madhya Pradesh colleges could be reopened and also by following the strict COVID 19 protocols described by the government. To attend the colleges in Physical mode its is compulsory for both students and teachers to get vaccinated. It is expected that Chief Minister will soon hold a meeting in mid-July before taking a final decision about the reopening of schools and colleges in the state.
