Jamaican sprinter Shelley-Ann Fraser-Price became the second-fastest woman after running the 100 meters in 10.63 seconds at the JOA / JAAA's Destiny Olympic event in Kingston on June 5, 2021. With this record, she showed the best time at 33 years old and the fourth place in history. Fraser-Price broke Carmelita Jeter's 2009 record (10.64 seconds) and is now 100 meters behind Florence Griffith-Joyner, the world record holder.
Griffith-Joyner set the world record for 100 meters among women - 10.49, 10.61, and 10.62 seconds, set in 1988 in Indianapolis.
Fraser-Price said after the race: "I never expected to be able to run 10.6 points." She added that this year she wanted to beat 10.7 seconds. She broke her national record of 10.70 seconds, which she shared with Elaine Thompson Hera, 2016 Olympic champion.

Shelley-Anne Fraser-Price is a Jamaican sprinter who became the second-fastest woman in history on June 5, 2021 after she ran the 100 meters in 10.63 seconds during the JOA / JAAA's Destiny Olympic event in Kingston.
Fraser-Price is a two-time Olympic champion in the 100m, one at the 2008 Beijing Games and the other at the 2012 London Games. She won bronze at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She won the 2019 IAAF World Championships 100m gold medal after returning from a maternity hospital.
