The Strawberry Supermoon will bring a lot of joy to space enthusiasts and moon fans as it arrives on June 24, 2021. The June Full Moon, also known as the Strawberry Supermoon, will be the last and brightest this year.
The orange-tinted strawberry moon will dazzle the night sky, being the closest to Earth in its orbit. However, according to NASA, a natural satellite will still be further away than the last three full moons.
If you are one of those who often indulge in lunar views of the moon, then you must make sure that you understand all the details of Strawberry Moon correctly. Read below to find out where and how this phenomenal event can be seen.
Time to see strawberry Moon in India
The Strawberry Supermoon, due out on June 24, 2021, will peak at 02:40 PM ET and 12:14 AM IST. Even then, the moon will appear in all its glory after it appears over the horizon. If you are unable to watch Strawberry Supermoon due to weather conditions, the event will be streamed live over Rome by The Virtual Telescope Project at 3:00 PM ET / 12:30 AM IST.
During a celestial event, the Moon will be closest to the Earth in its orbit, but even in this case, the natural satellite will still be farther away. The approaching supermoon does not actually show any faint strawberry characteristics, and in fact it was named by the Algonquin tribes in North America, who linked its emergency to the berry picking season.

The strawberry moon is also known by other names such as pink moon, hot moon, and honey moon. Many also believe that the word "honeymoon" derives from this full moon cycle of the year, during which most weddings are recorded worldwide.
While the upcoming Supermoon cannot match May's Blood Red Supermoon, Strawberry Supermoon 2021 will continue to be a big deal as it will be the last of its kind this year.
The term "Supermoon" was coined by an astrologer in 1979 to refer to lunar cycles that are closer than usual to Earth when they are full. Supermoons are 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than regular full moons, according to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
