Indian naval ships Teg and Kochi, along with P81 and MiG 29K aircraft, participated in an en-route exercise with US Navy strike group Ronald Reagan during their transit through the Indian Ocean region. The two-day naval exercises between the countries will take place on June 23 and 24, 2021.
According to an official statement from the Ministry of Defense, Indian naval ships, along with aircraft from the Indian Navy and Air Force, will participate in joint multi-domain operations along with the strike group of the aircraft carrier. It includes the Nimitz Ronald Reagan-class aircraft carrier, the Ticonderoga-class missile cruiser USS Shiloh and the Arleigh Burke-class missile destroyer USS Haley.
The two-day exercise between the Indian and US Navy aims to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation by demonstrating the ability to coordinate and comprehensively integrate in maritime operations.

Indian-American naval exercises
Rapid operations during naval exercises between India and the United States will include advanced air defense exercises, anti-submarine exercises and interdeck helicopter operations. The participating forces will also strive to hone their combat skills as well as enhance their interoperability as an integrated force contributing to peace, security and stability at sea.

The US and Indian navies regularly conduct many bilateral and multilateral exercises. The exercises highlight the shared values ??of partner naval forces in ensuring commitment to an inclusive, open and rules-based international order.
