Description

Date – 21st Jun 2021

The Supreme Court of India will hear petitions seeking the cancellation of Class XII offline examinations. The matter regarding cancellation of CBSE compartment, private, repeater exams for Class XII, Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) students also will be taken up within the court today. A vacation bench comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari are going to be hearing the petitions at 11 am.

About 1,152 students  knocked the door of Supreme Court and filed a joint petition seeking direction to the CBSE for cancellation of Class XII private, compartment examinations. The group of scholars also demanded parity with regular students.

The petitions filed before the court sought direction to the CBSE to reach a formula for performance evaluation of Class XII private or compartment students in line with the assessment formula adopted by CBSE and other education boards for the regular students and to release the leads in a time-bound manner, news organization ANI reports.

The petitions sought to direct the CBSE to permit Class X and XII private, compartment students to file their objections within a reasonable period of your time, just in case they're not satisfied with the results so published and also sought a direction to the CBSE to resolve the grievances, objections that would be raised, giving them fair and equal treatment with that of regular students.

Practicals are going to be for 100 marks and therefore the students are going to be marked supported to the marks submitted by the schools.  The board today submitted the Class XII marking formula to the Supreme Court today. Last month, parents had filed a petition within the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of CBSE Class XII exams amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
