The official app descriptor Aarogya Setu tweeted on June 9, 2021:

“You can now correct your name, year of birth and gender on Cowin's vaccination certificates if unintentional errors occur. Go to http://cowin.gov.in and raise a question. "

What mistakes can be corrected on the CoWIN vaccination certificate?

All beneficiaries can correct their name, year of birth and gender on the CoWIN vaccination certificate through the CoWIN portal. You can only request a change in either of two fields: Name, Year of Birth, and Gender. Changes will only be allowed once.

Why is the CoWIN vaccination certificate important?

The CoWIN vaccination certificate is an important document for domestic and international travel, especially for those who must go abroad in the coming months for work, study and other purposes. Errors in the certificate can create problems during travel and documentation, so the center introduced a new feature to edit the certificate and fix errors.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation is considering abolishing the mandatory RT-PCR test for fully vaccinated domestic air passengers. The center has also recently released guidance to link vaccine certificates to beneficiary passport numbers, if needed for international travel. Thus, the vaccine certification will become even more important.

The center has also decided to close the gap between the two doses of Covishield for those needing to travel abroad, and this will soon be facilitated by the Co-Win system.
