Former Minister of Health of Kerala K.K. Shailaja On June 17, 2021, Shalaja was awarded the Central European University (CEU) Open Society Prize for 2021. The highest university award was presented to her at the virtual convocation of the 30th graduation ceremony of the University. from Vienna.

“As the Minister of Health of the Indian state of Kerala during the COVID-19 pandemic, teacher K.K. Shailaja has demonstrated to the world that strong leadership is at the local community level. public health and effective communication can save lives. "
Shailaja was awarded the 2021 Open Society Prize for her public health work and strong leadership in saving lives during the pandemic. The United Nations (UN) also honored her in June 2020 for her efforts and strategies to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. She was invited as a speaker for the UN Public Service Day.
About K.K. Shailaja
K.K. Shailaja, Indian politician, former Minister of Health of Kerala (2016-2021). Shailaja is currently a member of the Legislative Assembly, which represented Mattanur District in the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly elections. Shailadzha is a member of the Central Committee of the KPI (M).
Shailaja was elected twice from the Kuthuparamba district in 1996 and 2016 and from the Peravur district in 2006.
