Olympics organizers have capped spectators to 10,000 for each venue for the Tokyo Games in 2020 after experts warned that a fan less event would be the least risky option during the COVID-19 pandemic. This decision was made because the introduction of the vaccine in Japan was slow and the medical system was on the brink.
However, Japan has managed to avoid the explosive coronavirus outbreaks that have devastated other countries. The limit for the Games will be set at 50% of the site's capacity. This limit can be reduced after July 12 based on any emergency or anti-infectious measures.
Summer Olympics 2020
It is officially called the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and is also known as Tokyo 2020. This upcoming international multisport event will take place from 23 July to 8 August 2021 in Tokyo, Japan. It was previously scheduled from July 24 to August 9, 2020. But it was postponed to March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will not allow international audiences. Despite being pushed back to 2021, it retains the Tokyo 2020 name for marketing and branding purposes. This was the first time the Olympic Games were rescheduled and rescheduled.
The 2020 Games will be the second venue for the Summer Olympics in Japan. The first Summer Olympics were held in Tokyo in 1964. Thus, Tokyo became the first city in Asia to host the Summer Games twice. The 2020 Games will be the fourth Olympic Games to be held in Japan. Japan also hosted the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo and 1998 in Nagano.
