Prime Minister Modi spoke at the 7th International Yoga Day event on June 21, 2021 in response to the coronavirus pandemic, this year's event aired at 6:30 AM. Along with a speech by Prime Minister Modi, the event also included a speech by Minister of State for Affairs Ayush Kiren Rijiu, as well as a live yoga demonstration by the Morarji Desai National Yoga Institute.

Yoga has become a ray of hope amid a pandemic

Speaking about its significance, Prime Minister Modi said that today even medical science focuses on the healing process, in addition to healing and yoga, which helps in the healing process.
He mentioned that doctors used yoga as armor to heal patients. There are pictures of hospitals with doctors, nurses teaching yoga, doing breathing exercises. International experts also claim that these exercises strengthen the respiratory system.
International Yoga Day 2021: events of the day
In celebration of International Yoga Day, people participated in large numbers in harmonious yoga demonstration / performance at 7:00 am.
The live yoga demonstration was followed by messages from 15 spiritual leaders and yoga gurus, namely: Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudeva, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar, Dr. H.R. Nagendra, Dr. Virendra Hegde, Kamlesh Patel, O.P. Tiwari, Dr. Hamsaji Jayadeva, Swami Chidanand Saraswati. , Muni Sri Sagar Maharaj, Dr. Chinmai Pandey, Swami Bharat Bhushan, Sister B.K. Shivani, Dr. Vishwas Mandalik, Antoinette Rosie and Sridharan.
Yoga Day was also celebrated in about 190 countries around the world. India's overseas missions reportedly coordinated various activities in preparation for the event in their respective countries.
On the occasion, various states in India have set up yoga camps while adhering to strict COVID-19 protocols. In Haryana, camps were found at approximately 1,100 locations across the state, and only 50 people were admitted to each camp.
