Delhi Government Trained 5000 Young People for the Third Wave

The Delhi government announced on June 16, 2021, that 5,000 young people will be trained as health assistants for medical and paramedical personnel in preparation for the potential for a third wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that given the shortage of medical and paramedical personnel during the second wave of the pandemic, the state government has an ambitious plan to train 5,000 community-based medical assistants or nursing assistants.

He added that this will help the government prepare for a possible third wave of COVID-19, as well as increase the headcount. As Delhi has seen a decline in active COVID-19 cases, the state government eased lockdown restrictions on June 13, allowing all stores to open simultaneously in all markets and malls.
Restaurants can also open at 50% capacity, and Delhi's metro and buses can operate at 50% capacity. The national capital has been isolated from the pandemic since April 19, 2021.
